How to Add a New Patient Type


Patient Type is the first level of indication that dictates the patient intake forms and consent forms you send to each patient when they book an appointment. By default, zHealth will provide you with three types of patients - CASH, INSURANCE, and PERSONAL INJURY. Some practices offer multiple care services at one single clinic, such as chiropractic care, acupuncture, massage therapy, physical therapy, and more. You can create a new patient type depending on what services your practice provides. Here is how you can create a new patient type in your zHealth account.

1. To get started, log in to your account at https://www.zhealthehr.com.

Once you’re logged in, you will see your name at the top right corner.

Hover the cursor over to your name. A drop-down menu will open.




2. Click on the third option - Update Info - from the drop-down menu.



3. In the Update Info window, click on the first tab - Facility. There are four options on the left side of the screen.

Click on the last option -
Patient Types.



4. At the top right corner, there is a green colored button - ‘Add New Patient Type’. Click on it. A pop-up window will open.



5a. Enter Patient Type such as Physical Therapy.

b. Enter Patient Type Code such as PT for Physical Therapy.

c. From the drop-down, select Note Type as ‘Note’.

d. Click ‘Save’.



6. Once you’ve added a new patient type, the pop-up window will close automatically.

You can see the new patient type added to your list of patient types. You can edit patient type details by clicking on the ‘Edit’ icon.

Click ‘Save’ every time you make changes to a patient type.
