How to Book and Schedule a New Patient

In this help guide, learn how to book and schedule a new patient. There are two ways to book an appointment for a new patient:


a. From the Monthly Calendar

1. From the monthly calendar on the left side of the dashboard, pick a date and time. Click on the available appointment slot. A pop-up window will appear.

Click on the ‘New Patient’ radio button. 
A drop-down form will appear for the new patient.



4. Fill in the new patient details:

a. Enter the first, middle, and last name of the patient.

b. From the drop-down list, select patient type as Cash, Personal Injury, Insurance, or Any Other Patient Type you created.

c. 
Select Gender
d. Enter the Phone Number
e. Enter Email Address and Date of Birth (if available or you know). Note: Date of Birth as 1/1/1900 till present date is allowed in zHealth.

f. Select provider name from the Physician drop-down category if you have multiple providers at your practice.

g. Select the Appointment Option as "New Patient" from the drop-down list.

h. Add details under Chief Complaint (It is optional).

i. Click ‘ Add Insurance ’ if you know the insurance details for the patient. You can always enter/edit insurance details for a patient when the patient visits you for an appointment.

j. Click ‘ Confirm and Add Details ’ You have added a new patient to your appointment calendar.




b.  From the New Patient Button on the Home Screen

1a. On the Home Screen, you will see a navigation bar at the top.

To add a new patient, click on the ‘New Patient’ red colored button.

A new page will open where you can fill the new patient details. 



2. Fill in the new patient details:
  1. Enter the first, middle, and last name of the patient
  2. Select Patient Type
  3. Select Gender
  4. Enter Date of Birth
  5. Enter SSN (if available)
  6. Enter Mobile Number
  7. Enter Home Phone Number
  8. Enter Email Address
  9. Enter Home Address
  10. Click "Save" or "Save and Add Appointment"
Click ‘Save’ if you want to add the New Patient details to your account and do not want to schedule an appointment at the moment.

If you click "Save and Add Appointment", you will be redirected to a new page.


4a. When you click "Save", you will be redirected to the new patient chart page.

You can change contact details or personal information, create SOAP notes or invoice for the new patient from the Patient Chart Page.

You can schedule an appointment for this new patient anytime by clicking on the"
Add Appointment" option at the top right corner of the patient chart page.


b. If you click "Save and Add Appointment", you will be directed to the new screen. Fill in the following information to schedule an appointment for the new patient:
  1. Select Provider from the drop-down list
  2. Select Patient Type from the drop-down list
  3. Select appointment date and time
  4. Enter appointment duration
  5. Enter chief complaint
    Click ‘
    Save

    The new patient details will be saved into your account and an appointment will be created for the selected date and time.
