Setting Up CPT Code Favorites


Users with full access can set up their most commonly used procedure (CPT) codes as favorites* to aid in efficiency when creating invoices.

B. Read Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Navigate to the Patient Chart. Click on Patient Billing. 

In the Patient Billing window, click on any Invoice. The Invoice page opens.




2. Under the CPT Code section, click "Manage Fav". My Favorite Diagnosis Codes pop-up box opens.



3a. Enter the 'New Fav Name' in the box.

b. Click ‘Add New’ to add Fav Name to your favorites.

For example, to create Lumbar related CPT code favorites, type 'Lumbar' in the box and then click 'Add New'. You will get a message " New Favorite has been added. Starting adding CPT's ."



6. To add CPT codes to the favorite you created, follow these steps:

a. Enter the first characters of a code number or description. The auto-populated list of possible matches displays below the field. Scroll down if necessary to view more.
b. Locate the desired code in the list and click on it.
c. Click the '+' icon to add the selected CPT code to your CPT favorite. Continue the above steps to add more codes to your CPT Code Favorite.



*Note: Once a user, who has created a favorite list of Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes, becomes inactive, all corresponding CPT favorites are also deactivated, thereby rendering them inaccessible to other providers and staff for viewing or usage.
