SOAP Notes FAQs

Q: How to enable the microphone for zHealth to record SOAP notes?


A: zHealth is compatible with Chrome browser. If you change your Chrome browser settings, you can start recording using voice dictation in our SOAP notes:

To change a site's camera & microphone permissions
  1. Open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More. Settings.
  3. Under "Privacy and Security," click Site settings.
  4. Click Camera or Microphone. Turn on or off Ask before accessing.
  5. Review your blocked and allowed sites.

Q: Can I download all SOAP Notes?

A: You can do this, but you will have to do it manually patient by patient from Past Notes. There is no mass export for Notes and we currently do not provide support for this.


To download SOAP Notes patient by patient, follow the steps mentioned below:
  1. Click the Search Icon in the top navigation bar. This will help you get all patient search results.
  2. Click on the first patient name.
  3. On the Patient Profile, go to Past Notes tab. 
  4. On the Past Notes tab, you can view 10 past notes of the patient by default.
  5. Click the top checkbox on the left side of the screen to select all 10 past notes.
  6. Click Print Notes and select whether you want to download SOAP notes With Invoice, Without Invoice or With Invoice but no charges shown.
  7. Follow the system prompt to download the past notes as PDF files and save them in your system.
  8. Once you save the first 10 past notes of the patients, close the pop-up window. 
  9. Click Next on the bottom of the page to view, download, and save next 10 past notes of the patient. 
  10. Repeat step numbers 5-8 to download and save more SOAP Notes.
  11. Once you complete downloading all SOAP notes of a patient, continue all the above steps for the next patient in your system.

Q: How do I enable the microphone for zHealth to record notes on an iPad?

A: Please follow the steps below to enable microphone for zHealth to record notes on an iPad.
Step 1: Open Settings.
Step 2: Tap Privacy.
Step 3: Tap Microphone.
Step 4: Toggle Access per App.


Q: Do SOAP notes SALT over from another provider?

A: Yes, if SALTing is enabled, they will SALT over from last visit, with the respect of who the Provider was. There is a setting to SALT based on last provider or last visit regardless of provider.


Q: How can I prevent duplicate SOAP notes for two different providers on the same day (we only want one if a patient see the Chiropractor and Massage Therapist)?

A: This is a setting configuration. Two SOAP notes will be created if a patient sees two different Chiropractors on the same day. If you only want one SOAP note if a patient is seen by a Massage Therapist, make sure that Massage Therapist has a default provider listed under “User Management”.


Q: Can we delete an entire SOAP note?

A: Yes. Go to the SOAP note you want and go to "Review & Sign" and click delete note. Please note, you won't be able to delete if any payments were taken.
