Manually Forcing a FW update

In order for Anywhere Commerce BBPOS Walker BT Mobile Card Readers to continue to be able to fully do EMV transactions, the firmware in the devices needs to be updated manually. If you do not update the firmware, the device will not function for EMV transactions. Here is how you can update it manually.

1. Download the file

To download the latest version of the firmware in your Windows laptop/desktop, click the download link below: https://shorturl.at/9RVYP

Once the file is downloaded, open the downloaded folder.

a. Click on the application and Extract All
b. After extracting open folder with today’s date and double click the application (AnyPayOtAApp - file name you need to click)
c. Disconnect from the Cloudbridge, but keep the USB plugged in to the computer

2. Open application and update FW

a. Open the new application and c
lick “Connect”. 
b. Click “Device Info (FW)” to confirm what FW version you have
c. Click the “Get Target Version List” and copy the first listed version (example “2.01.00.24”)
d. Click "Set Target Version". A pop-up window will open. Enter the copied target version from above step into the first box and click OK.
e. Next, click “Remote Firmware Update
f. Wait for the update to hit 100% and show success. It will automatically disconnect
g. Click “disconnect” even though it says you are disconnected.
h. Click “Connect” (after manually disconnecting). Click “Device info” to see it worked and you have the latest version you requested

3. Update Config

a. Click the "Get Target Version List". A pop-up window will open.
b. Select "CONFIG" from the dropdown menu and click OK.
c. Copy the Config's target version list.
d. Click "Set Target Version". A pop-up window will open.
e. Copy the target version of Config into the first two boxes, select "CONFIG" from the Target VersionType and click OK.
e. Next, click "Remote Config Update".
f. Wait for the update to hit 100% and show success. It will automatically disconnect
g. Click “disconnect” even though it says you are disconnected.
h. Click “Connect” (after manually disconnecting). Click “Device info” to see it worked and you have the latest version you requested

4. Back to Cloudbridge app to connect Bluetooth

a. Go back to Cloudbridge. Click Connect and connect via USB. Once connected, click the small green "Settings" icon. A pop-up box will open. Click “OTA” to check your FW is updated
b. Disconnect and unplug USB (USB must be unplugged to connect to BT)
c. Trying connecting via Bluetooth
  1. If Bluetooth doesn’t work, you’ll have to manually add a new bluetooth device
  2. Go to your computer's Bluetooth settings and add a device (if two devices are displayed, use the one that has just the phone icon, not both the phone and computer)
  3. Double click and add in the BT passkey (6 digits) found in small writing on the back of the device (for CHB3 only). Enter this for security purposes. It may still show disconnected, but it should now be an option.
d. Go back to the CloudBridge app and connect via BT and it should connect.
e. You should now be able to connect and run cards via BT instead of USB (USB must be unplugged to connect to BT)
